Memories || A Poem
Memories We sat side by side in that worn-out class, Laughing at jokes only we could grasp. In the hum of breaks, our voices rang, As the world outside just drifted away. The nights were long but never lonely, With games and laughter, you and me only. On voice calls that stretched into the night, We’d talk until one of us lost the fight, To sleep that crept in soft and slow, Yet neither wanted to let go. We’d stay up late with bleary eyes, Helping each other as time flew by. Assignments felt like less of a chore, When we tackled them together, never a bore. Every day was a new adventure, Hanging out together, our friendship secure. From morning’s light to evening’s shade, Those moments in tenth grade never fade.
